Most foreign visitors coming to Turkey need some kind of a visa to enter the country. You can reach information about visa types and ways of obtaining them by visiting the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ web-site and the Turkey’s Electronic Visa Application System site.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs lists visa requirements for all countries and for all visa types, including visa fees. There are different rules for diplomatic, official, and ordinary passports and the rules differ between countries. Therefore it is wise to visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs web-site and check the visa requirements for your country of origin -i.e. the country your travel document (passport) is issued- to avoid any problems and save time when travelling to Turkey.
Note that, independent of the the type of visa required, your passport should have an expiration date at least 60 days beyond the “duration of stay”, but the Ministry kindly advises “to have a travel document/passport valid for at least 6 months as from the date of your arrival in Turkey”.
Those who travel to Turkey for tourism or commerce purposes can obtain an e-visa either from the web-site or from kiosks in Turkey’s airports. However, fees for e-visas obtained via the e-visa website are lower than the fees for visas obtained upon arrival to Turkish airports.
E-visa website provides services in Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, English, French, German, Polish, and Spanish. Through the system, you can enter the necessary information needed for the visas and pay your visa fee online.
